Roots of a Nomad - Artisan distilled all natural hydrosols

What are hydrosols?

Hydrosols are water-based products made from the distillation of flowers,
leaves, fruits, and other plant materials. Hydrosols are sometime called floral
water.

When the steam from the distilled water passes through the plant material, it takes with it the volatile oils from the plant. The two travel through the tube at the top of the steam vessel (Roots of a Nomad uses a traditional copper alembic) and down through the condensing tube. Once the water and oil have separated, the essential oil is siphoned off the top and what you have left is the hydrosol. While less concentrated, the hydrosols share many of the same therapeutic properties as essential oils. They also have a softer, more subtle scent and are safe for anyone to use, including children and pregnant women.  

Hydrosols are often used in skin care or aromatherapy products. While they’ve also been used for medicinal purposes

How to use hydrosols?

Hydrosols can be sprayed undiluted on the face and skin as a toner or on your hair. Different hydrosols have different properties, some for dry and mature skin, others for more oily skin or for soothing eczema or inflammatory ailments. Hydrosols have therapeutic
virtues and can safely be used internally by spraying a few pumps directly into mount 2-3 times/day. Alternatively add 1-2 teaspoons in a glass of water and drink.

How to store hydrosols?

Since hydrosols are all natural and contain no
preservatives, store them in the fridge once opened and use within two years.
